I've been through two years of college, and I've only had one professor that I really didn't care for. He's of the sort who is
always right. I do recall one scenario where a student got a point off on a quiz for something that the professor graded incorrectly. The professor's answer: "It's only one point," and he wouldn't adjust the student's grade.
Sure, it's only one point. You know what? Open your damn Excel spreadsheet and change one number. It's really not that difficult. After all, it's only one point.
Fortunately, there are other professors that teach the same subjects, so I have the option not to take his classes.
However, he does teach the material well enough, and he generally grades fairly. I just don't like his attitude. He has an air of arrogance about him even larger than his waistline.
What level course is this?

I never saw that site before. Wow, two of my favorite professors are getting ratings there I wouldn't have expected. 3.8/5.0 for one, I guess that's alright. He's an awesome teacher, a Professional Engineer, very easy going, fair, and willing to help out.
The other only rated 2.0/5.0. He's pretty strict about his requirements, and he's got a dry sense of humor. The common opinion is that he doesn't seem to be too willing to put forth much effort to help students. But what I notice is that he is far less willing to help those who obviously aren't trying. His attitude seems to be, "Why should I put forth effort to help you if you aren't even trying?" People will ask him questions in class that were answered in the book - that's why he assigns reading to be done before certain classes. People will ask him questions in class which he already talked about that very same day. Maybe if they'd shut the hell up during class and pay attention, they wouldn't get confused later.
I've gone to him for help with some homework and shown him what I'd tried already. He was pretty willing to help me and walk me through what I did wrong.
The people who I hear talking about this professor being an ass are usually those who don't hand in homework, who don't come to class often, and who are disrespectful by talking during class. Oh, and there are farting contests during classes. Such things happen when it's entirely guys in the class, whose collective IQ can be expressed in 4 digits. In binary.
The not-paying-attention thing happens in my Physics II class too. A group of girls are always gabbing on about meaningless BS. It's no wonder that they are totally clueless about any of the material. One of them owns a pair of boots that make it look like she shoved her feet up the rear ends of two small furry dogs. Or maybe tribbles. I almost just started laughing out loud when I first saw them.
