I'm not sure if it's a speed bump, an kiddie car, or someone's idea of a sick practical joke.

Anyone have any ideas what it is?

I like it.... But the chicks in that picture sure don't seem to care! Maybe he needs some shiny stuff on the tires or some V-Tec stickers.

Heh, think about this. Obviously, the two dorks in the matchbox car are scopin' for chicks...they do seem to be calling to the gaggle of women on the sidewalk. If indeed, two women decide "hey these guys are cute, we should hang w/them"....WHERE WILL THE WOMEN RIDE? It's only a two-seater!

Proving once again that God gave men two heads, but only enough blood to operate one at a time.

Ah, in other words a European speed bump.

Interesting car in all honesty, but not one I'd feel safe in. Give me a good old fashioned Olds 88 road boat and I'm happy.

That would be another Daimler Chrysler creation, Smart. Originally created in a joint venture with Swatch (design side), now fully owned by Merc.
Very sensible car if you live in a big city.

Well, I am one horny mofo and any picture involving women must include the assumption of sexual activity within 30 minutes or less. Just look at the dudes; they are OBVIOUSLY yelling:

"Hey ladies, dig our cute little car...it gets bigger if you pet it nice, though."

I saw a feature on TV about those cars in Europe. Apparently a lot of teenagers go for these types of vehicles primarily for the fact that you don't need a license to drive it (or something to that extent). Plus it's cheap and easy to drive around over there.

If you've ever tried to park in Europe, you'll know the value of a small car. Or a big roller skate in this case.

That thing looks like it would flip head first if you hit the brakes too hard, lol.

I want one.

I'm surprised no company has tried to market it in the US as a "runabout" that you can keep in the back of your SUV or RV

Actually, I know that there are a couple of SUV's and pickups that could actually store it in the back with zero problems. Heck, they even showed it being done on an advertisement once. Oh sure, that's just hollywood making something difficult look easy, but I can tell you one thing. They got it in there, one way or another. So it's definately possible.

It looks like a SMART...ugly cars that run on diesel, are fuel efficient, and drive around in Europe...I can't stand those things:disgust: \

But they aren't that bad...especially in the big city like everyone mentioned

Yeah a Smart.. They had to recall the first ones. They had a problem of flipping on it's back, kind of like pointing the space shuttle at the sky.. You would be driving along, get in a spin, and next thing you know you are looking up at the sky saying to yourself "How the hell did I get here?"

I have a picture of a Smart done up like a police car.. Light bars and all.. Friggin neat!

It's an OK car. Sure it wouldn't be that good for long-distance driving, but it entirely meant for urban-driving. Safety isn't really a concern, since speds in cities are generally low (and to my knowledge, Smart does have the standard safety-features). Basically that car is for getting around in cities. And for that, it's more or less perfect. Good fuel-economy, small size, easy to park, low emissions, more than enough performance for it's intended task, enough space for two adults and groceries (for example) and affordable price. It's a perfect example how you don't need 1.5 tons of metal and huge V6 just to haul your ass around the city at 40km/h.

Saw them all over Germany when I went there. I think they get something like 70mpg or something.
