WTH is up with HDTV?

Well, okay I got HDTV programming from my cable provider. Yeah it looks good and everything, BUT:

THE HD CONTENT IS FA KING LAME!

Am I suppose to be mesmerized by the colors and resolution and forget about the FA KING CONTENT?
The Discovery HD channel SUCKS. Where is my Superweapons, and where the hell did the history channel go in HD?

Also, WTF happened to like playing SOME repeats and not the same ****** every other minute?

I find the HD acceptable... I love the Discovery HD. Unfortunately my cable company only offers up six HD channels. What pisses me off... is channels 2-13.

In my room, I immediately switch to the Digital tuner as my NTSC tuner in my TV sucks ARSE.

2.I am talking tv in general, I am sick of it. Just dvds and games for me. I would be perfectly fine with never watching tv again. If it wasn't for my wife and kids I wouldn't have tv service.

just out of curiosity have you tried to get HD channels over the air? I used to have satellite, but when I got a HDTV I switched to a cheap $24 outdoor antenna from Radio Shack and am completely satisfied with the 22 crystal clear, HD channels I get for free.

I have to agree here... Cinema still rocks, but not TV... Stopped watching TV about 3 years ago and havent felt the need to go back once

I somehow doubt you can get 22 HD channels if so give me more info on what channels you do get...

In my area, I get OTA for ABC, Fox, PBS (7 stations or so) and a local channel (the local is digital, but not high-def). the HD stuff looks fantastic. OTA high-def is supposed to have higher quality images vs. digital channels on cable, due to the compression method they use for cable.

I get ABC FOX NBC CBS PBS and some other music channels and bs. I am just getting the digital signal that they let through over the cable.

bbc/pbs documentaries don't suck, well some of them don't. and when they are good, and in hd they are so much better.

I find it funny that cable companies talk so much about their HD programming, but when it comes time for March Maddness, they get rid of the HD feed so they can show 3 or 4 games in that same bandwidth. At least that's what time warner in Milwaukee did. Kind of pisses me off....

HDTV does look great, especially some of the Discovery shows, but the programming does suck for the most part. I cancelled cable recently, not worth paying for a handful of crappy shows.
