WUS / SUS 2.0 - Anyone try the beta yet?

Signed up about 2 weeks ago for the WUS beta program, and still waiting.

Anyone get there hands on it yet? Curious to know what the improvements are, reporting, etc.

Well hopefully it doesnt suck like SUS did.

I would not say it S*cked, but it is lacking reporting, and flexibility.

We were using Unicenter TNG SDO to push patches and SUS has made the job much easier (1400 machines). It is just a pain to track the failed installs using 3rd party tools, TNG AMO and the MS MBSA.

Besides wanting to see if anyone has had first hand experience with the WUS Beta, it is also an attempt to find someone willing to "share" a copy that I can try in a test lab at work.......

I disagree strongly! SUS did not suck. It's reporting was lacking but there are lots of 3rd party utilities that are free that will create decent reports for you. Until we moved to SMS we were using SUS to push out patches to 450+ workstations.

I am on the beta for WUS and it's a vast improvement over SUS. Takes a little more to administer it now because it has better scheduling options. The reporting is also much better too. And no I won't "share" my copy with anyone...

As I had said it does not s*ck, and I am using it at work to 1400 clients with no issues. No problem if you don't care to share.

How is the reporting capabilities?

I haven't really gotten into the reporting features yet. Still going over the new client and scheduling options still. I should be getting more into it next week. IM me then if you want to know more about it.
