I believe bygdaddy is mistaken regarding the differences between Classic and Grand Prix. I own and use both. The Classic has a full tong and the Grand Prix does not. Please check out the Wusthof website if you need an explanation what this means. In practical terms, the balance and the heft of the knives are slightly different. It is noticeable even to an amateur like myself. I can not recommend one over the other, it is simply a matter of preference.
