The 'criminalize legitimate people for things we don't like' formula worked well for abortions, completely expected for it to expand further.

As a former library board member and officer, I can safely predict that this bill-IF IT BECOMES BILL (a huge if) would decimate the boards of libraries and museums across the state. These provisions are almost always unpaid volunteers. Library board members tend to be locals interested in supporting the library, museum board members tend to be local bigwigs looking for a prestige appointment. (My former boss was on the board for a major local museum).

If you want to eliminate libraries and museums this will be an extremely effective device to do so. Otherwise I completely fail to see any social benefit to such a law.

I would not panic though-we have fifty states with countless legislators, every one of which can propose a bill. Stupid bills that have absolutely no chance of becoming law are pretty common.

You guys are actually both right. The best defense fascism is to prevent it from gaining acceptance in the first place. An educated/enlightened population leads to laws/regulations that help your average person which helps people keep faith and trust in societies institutions. That trust is the biggest defense against fascism.

Guns only come into play when we are already facing a fascist movement. Even then, you still must maintain an educated and enlightened freedom fighting force.
