<< the thing that makes me sick is that they have these scantily clad women running around with their tits popping out everywhere and clothes "accidentally" falling off and at the same time they market this to children, and there are tons of kids watching it.
pretty low. >>
Oh come on. It makes me even sicker that some people are so sexually opressed they still view womens breasts as taboo, and something a child definitley shouldnt see. What's the deal here? Are you sexist? [sarcasm] It's okay to let the children watch shirtless men, but god forbid its a shirtless women! [/sarcasm] >>
in some ways i agree with you. it is totally illogical that womens breasts are viewed as taboo. i am hardly sexually repressed, really i think it is stupid that american tv is so prude, nudity is not a bad thing IMO.
but i think this is a bit different. the fact is, boobs in america are a taboo, and the wwf is hardly promoting "nature", they are promoting women who act like whores, as are many other parts of the media like mtv. its perfectly fine to show boobs (IMO once again), but britney spears isnt dressing the way she does because of some profound belief in "the human body in its purest form" or some other BS, she's doing it because it makes guys get stiffies and that makes money.
so, to set the record straight, i dont mind nudity on tv, even in front of kids, what i do mind is people promoting a whorish (is that a word?) attitude, and that women are being relegated to cum napkins. (in the mainstream that is, pron is a seperate issue i think)
edit: added bold for whiz-bang effect >>
It's all the same to me. Whether or not they show it in a whorish manner, or in a natural manner, shouldnt matter.
If it wasnt taboo and quite normal, would you still think that of the women who displayed their chest in such a way? Oh yes, they must be sluts. How about those men who show off their chests in sexual ways? Those magazine ads with guys that have perfect abs, their chest covered in some sort of massage oil. They must be sluts too then? Or atleast whorish right?
If women can show their breasts in a whorish way, then surely men can too, unless of corse your sexist enough in a way to make a distinction from womens breasts to mens ,most likely a view placed upon you by societys standards. But I'm going to assume your not.
The only reason I believe that women can even show their breasts in such a whorish fashion, is because it is taboo. If it wasnt, you really think her breasts slipping out of her outfit would of really mattered or even been whorish?
It seems to me hypocritical that you dont mind nudity on tv, even in front of kids, but then thats only as long as the manner its displayed it fits your standards (ie non-whorish).
It seems the idea of women being able to show their breasts in a whorish way was given to you by the same ways that the idea that womens breasts are taboo does.
Anyhow if you believe that children shouldnt be watching it, thats fine, it just bothers me that some people are so adamant about opressing the rest of us by making it banned from tv and such. (Im not saying your one of those people, just seems you have the mind-set of one of those people).
I saw plenty of nudity when I was younger, and growing up, and from the way you differentiate whorish nudity from just plain nudity, the majority of it was whorish nudity. And this is the outcome of seeing all that, I dont think I turned out being a whore like those women on TV that you refer to as, and I think it made me a little bit more open-minded, towards nudity and sexual aspects of life.
Okiee, anyways yea, thats all I have to say on that subject.
