This thread definitely delivers entertainment value. Dropping logs on Japanese-held islands during WW 2?

Actually, this idea might have worked. The Japanese might have died of laughter ...

Maybe if America got into the war years earlier before it got out of control...things might of been different.

Maybe if EUROPE had also. Apparently Hitler could hav been very easily defeated when he invaded Czechoslovakia...

Stalin was a monster, but not on this.

It seems he was pretty much the lone voice, the Winston Churchill before Churchill, trying to get Europe to fight Hitler, and no one would listen.

I recently saw that before signing the non-aggression treaty with Hitler to delay him, he haad tried to make a treaty with Europe against Hitler - no go.

Then the west delayed D-Day for a long time while they let the Soviets take huge losses to weaken the Germans. Very nasty.

You see that sounds like a good idea....yet knowing the government -- your order for logs would have been back logged....lolol

I'm pretty sure that's a myth.

you are right. However the myth arose from teh following battle in WWII.

"The charge at Krojanty, battle at Krojanty,[1] the riding of Krojanty or skirmish of Krojanty[2] was a cavalry charge that occurred during the Invasion of Poland in the Second World War. It took place on the evening of September 1, 1939, near the Pomeranian village of Krojanty. Polish soldiers advanced east along the former Prussian Eastern Railway to railroad crossroads 7 kilometres from the town of Chojnice (Konitz) where elements of the Polish cavalry charged and dispersed a German infantry battalion. Machine gun fire from German armoured cars that appeared from a nearby forest forced the Poles to retreat. However, the attack successfully delayed the German advance, allowing the Polish 1st Rifle battalion and Czersk Operational Group to withdraw safely."
