Anyone care to breifly list their favorite shopping engines - I use the sames ones for a couple of years so I'm normally the last to know about good new ones! I've got:

Froogle seems to grab a lot of sites that PriceWatch and PriceGrabber miss.
Although you can't sort by price, you can set price parameters, so if you see something on PW for $100, just go to Froogle and input that as your max price. That usually reduces your hits to a manageable number, and then you can quickly check to see if there's anyplace selling the item for less.

Another price search engine is PriceScan, but I don't think it's as good as PW, PG and Froogle.

I know some of you have heard of it already, but yahoo.com (that's dot COM- NOT dot NET or dot ORG) is a great place to get news, check the weather, get a map- you can even do a SEARCH of the freaking INTERNET there! Just used froogle to save $100 off list on some sunglasses (my wife is picky). Tried several other search engines and nothing had what I wanted for better than $50 off list price.

So yeah this is a hot deal to me.

Don't get the whacked yahoo/cnn reference from McKay and fritzo, this is "on topic" as it pertains to finding hotdeals; if you think it is not "on topic" don't "bump" it with a smart aleck remark, complain to the mods so they can make you happy and lock it.

Thanks for the heads up on Froogle. Perhaps one way to handle the lack of a "sort by price" option is to hunt on pricegrabber first, find the lowest price, then head over to Froogle and put a price limitation on the search. Of course, you run into the problem of no shipping cost calculations, so you'll want to give a little leeway for that too.

The best way to search by price is to set a minimum and maximum price in the price box and keep lowering the max price until you find the price you want
