I ordered a 6800GT with free Doom3 yesterday from gameve.com and they've taken a LONG time to process my order. I used rush processing and after 24 hours, it's still on "Order Received/Ready to Charge" which is only the 2nd step after "Order Submited by Customer." Also, I tried calling them during their business hours (I adjusted for the time difference) and no one answered the phone. This is making me nervous, can anyone tell me their experiences with gameve.com?

I ended up ordering from them because they had the best price for a 6800gt with doom3 and I was needed the card quickly.

The first sign of a problem was that when I called their 1-800 number, I couldn't reach any of their employees. I called on different days at different times during their office hours. I decided to order anyways because of their pretty good resellerratings score.

I ordered a "XFX GeFORCE 6800GT 256MB DDR3 W/DOOM3 RETAIL", item number VC-XFX-025 on 12/27/04. It was "In stock: Usually ships within 1-2 business days." I used their "rush" ordering, which had to be ordered by noon and charged by 12:30. I ordered at 11:44am and my order didn't get charged until 24 hours later(I ordered from Newegg right after Gameve and that "rush" order shipped the same day.) I also ordered from Newegg, Monarchcomputer, and Xoxide on the same day and got everything by Thursday. (I had my computer fully assembled and running with my old video card that night)

The status changed to "Order Shipped" at 4:44pm the day after I ordered and I got an e-mail confirming the status. The note said "Your XFX order will ship out from XFX warehouse by UPS 3 days. thanks - 92568." Since it said "Shipped" in big red lettering in my e-mail, I assumed all was alright, but I never got a tracking number.

It is now 1/4/05 and I still haven't gotten the item so I e-mailed about the item and got the response: "Your will get the tracking number shortly" That sounded like a bullcrap response so I called them for the 6th time total and FINALLY got an answer. The guy said the item was backordered and that it won't ship until Thurs/Fri.

I wouldn't have known it was backordered if I didn't call them. Plus the item title and description (same item number) doesn't say anything about Doom3 so I will probably end up getting screwed when I they send me the card w/out Doom3.

meh.. took them 3 cards to get me one that worked... All looked re-shrunk. The whole falshing 5900's fiasco if anyone remembers...

They may be good now but that experiance made it my first and only order from them...

Ordered from them twice myself, very fast, no issues. Last order was an MSI 9800pro (green one with large HS/XT core) about 4 months ago.

yeah, the main reason I decided to go with them is that they had the best price I could find from a site with a pretty good resellerrating. I REALLY hope they don't screw me over.

I think GameVE.com was the brunt of the BFG 5900 scandal/problem last Jan/Feb04. From the forum comments from that event, I would say they are not very good at all.

over the past few years i've ordered several items from them and have never had any issue...on the contrary i find them an excellent dealer as their prices are very often unbeatable and service/delivery (at least for me) is always on par with any other online retailer i've dealt with

I called them again and this time a lady answered the phone. She was very polite and seem to know more than the guy that answered before. She told me that the XFX cards don't actually ship from their warehouse, but from a seperate one run by Fedex. They said that they got bad info from Fedex so they thought they had a bunch in stock when I ordered it. She also cleared up that since XFX is no longer packaging Doom3 with their 6800GTs, Gameve will ship it seperately to the customers who ordered it. I need the card by Friday so I decided to switch replace my order with a similarly priced MSI 6800GT (had XIII, Price of Persia, and URU, but no Doom3) which is supposed to ship today. Hopefully everything will go smoothly this time.

i ordered my tj05 from them and it came fedex thursday, it was broken in shipping i presume


they were closed until today, and they are sending me a new face for the case which is where all the damage was. i mean i don't mind because i dont have to ship anything back (ie. rma) but its kinda annoying that i have to put it together now...
