X-Box + "S" Controller + JetSet Radio Future + Sega Gt 2002 = $199 starting Oct 15th (It's on sale NOW!)

Starting on October 15th Microsoft will launch the new package bundle for the Xbox console system. The new package will contain the Xbox console, a "S" Controller, and two Sega games on one disk: Sega GT 2002 & JetSet Radio Future. The system price will stay the same - $199.00.

EDIT: Since the "Sega Bundle" starts tomorrow (10/15/02), let's post any info we can scrounge up here. If anyone can put together a hot deal - that would be nice too

imo, this is a better deal than dropping xbox's price to $150. Thank god MS finally realized how crappy/big/unwieldy was the original bundled controller. i hope it's true.

I hated the controller at first, but after owning both the Gamecube and PS2, the Xbox controller seemed so tough and rugged. It just feels like it's built to be thrown around and used for a weapon.

With that being said, I haven't used the S-controller yet, so I don't know which one I like better.

Oh, and this Xbox deal is rockin! Too bad it wasn't Halo + another game. Oh well.

I had JSRF once but couldn't get past the training course. Not sure what I was doing wrong. The music was annoying too.

i think this sound beleivable. the reason is because they are currently giving away the dvd kit a 30.00 value, so you figure they swap the controller to the newer smaller one at no cost, then instead of including the dvd kit free they include the 2 games on 1 disk. because they are sodtware there is no real cost to them as opposed to the hardware dvd kit which has a real manuvactuing cost plus licencing from phillips. MS kicks sega the 30.00 for the right to use the games and it works out the same but the custo's look at it as a better deal!

I must say these two games are awesome they are really good games! Also i like the older BIG controler as it fits my hands better and feels more solid, the S controller is much more sony feeling (smaller lighter and cheaper) but then again i am the oddball that liked the internet exporer 2.0 better than the 3.0 bacause like the bigger size!

Plus right now Target has the dvd kit for $20 on sale so maybe you could buy it now for $20 then buy the bundle for $200 and get $30 back by mail.
That would be a deal $190 for the xbox, 2games, controller, and dvd kit.

Nice try, but no dice. The DVD Kit rebate only refunds what you pay for the kit, UP TO $30.

If you check out my thread in Off Topic, someone posted a link to a site that's hosting scans (?) of the new xbox packaging.

Like Sleeper5555 said, I believe this is a lot more viable then a price cut. With the DVD Remote offer, it looks like I'll be working out my budget to see if I can afford this .

And I would almost certainly bet these are the new xboxes that the mod chips don't work on. The new packaging would make sense, as they almost certainly would change it for a new model.

The DVD kit rebate is only for UPC 659556901721 or 659556602307. Anyone know what the UPC is for this new Xbox bundle?
