ok i can confirm this is true i seen it today in national chain store, they were not on sale but they had a date on them basically saying do not sell until the 15th! Also costco has a bundle with the system, 2 games an extra cont and the dvd remote to appear on the 15th but i did not see a price on the combo yet.

Yes this is supposed to be the unmoddable xbox but good news they already cracked the new xbox and modchips will be coming out for it in a couple weeks so this is a great bargain. Seeing as modchips are so cheap these days and they have a software program that eliminates the need for the dvd kit $199 is an excellent deal for 2 pretty nice titles.

On a side note, Jetset radio future is kinda annoying after a while I would of gladly gone for Madden 2003, Hitman 2, Dead to Rights, or Halo along with Sega GT 2002 but I don't think those are sega games. Hell they should of tossed in Sega NFL 2K3 which is an online game so we could be ready for Live in november but beggers can't be choosers.

Yesterday I happened to be in the mall and stopped in the Software, Etc. store (South Coast Plaza, Costa Mesa, CA) and I specifically asked the store mgr about whether they'd be carrying the "Sega Bundle." He recognized what I was talking about and said "Oh yeah, we'll have those on Tuesday the 15th. Definitely in stock." He was motioning towards the back room as if to say, "Yeah we gottem now, but I can't sell 'em to you yet..."

The clerk next to him piped up to say "The two sega games are on 1 disk." Which I already knew. They both seemed to think that the bundle was for a limited time too. Probably for a month or less.

It's nice to get some actual confirmation of this deal, at least for myself. Most of the xbox threads are rife with EB employees confirming this bundle too... It's gonna happen.

I will be buying this thing. But I might hold of on buying any games. I go for games that sell for like 10 dollars. No hurry for me to play the latest games. I guess if everyone is like me, microsoft will be losing more money then they spend on advertising.


Somehow that makes me happy very happy. So I scream HOT.

According to MS no they will not. And suposedly this is a limited edition set (it will only be avail for a couple months)

I haven't bought a new xbox personally, but I am 90% sure these are the newer model xboxes that MS was talking about releasing a while ago (the ones that defeat current mod chip tech)

Has anybody actually seen these for sale at a B&M store yet ? I swung by WalMart on the way in to work, and they didn't have any new version out. The guy at Best Buy yesterday said they didn't even have them in stock yet, so it'd be a while before they had them on the shelves... Just wondering if Oct 15th is when this is ANNOUNCED, or when it's RELEASED...

yes they are out today read my post above from last week, many stores already have them and have since last week! but they could not release till today!

Thanks. I drove around and finally found one. Best Buy, Circuit City, K-Mart, and WalMart didn't have 'em out (at least here in Wisconsin) yet. But 'GameStop' in the mall did. Great deal !
