X-Fi or Azalia on Vista?

My X-Fi gave me loads of problems on XP before I finally fixed it; I don't need the headache on Vista. Should I bother with it or just eBay it or something?

There's a pretty lenghty thread that covers some of this in the Video forum of all places. I haven't used Azalia sound myself, but I have had X-Fi problems. I don't think they're only related to Vista, mostly with my board/NV chipset, but there's also quite a few Vista users in that thread that are running their X-Fi without issues. Personally, I don't know if the X-Fi is enough improvement over anything else to justify dealing with any potential problems. EAX and overall sound quality just suck in Vista even with OpenAL support.

I'm perfectly happy with Azalia sound in Vista. My X-Fi doesn't even work anymore (I broke it)

I'm very happy with my X-FI under Vista. No problems in any of the things I used it for. Mostly gaming, music and movie playback. I don't do audio creation.

I had EAX compatibility in XP, it wasn't amazing. I guess I'll stick it out with the Azalia until I start hearing mass reports of greatness in Vista.

Creative just came out with new drivers for Vista and X-Fi. I hear the problems are fixed now.

Are these Beta drivers on a different site? The latest on Creative's site are May-ish....which I wouldn't exactly call new.
