I dunno about that. I thought the rule of thumb is that the studio gets to keep ~50% of the gross. This means they are probably in the red after marketing cost. Then it's on to home video and TV to help dig out of the hole.
I think it's more than that because theatres/cinemas rely heavily on concession sales to make bank.
