OK, what the crap? I stayed after the credits Friday night, and there was no scene.

And yet, according to wikipedia:
He (Darwin) ends up appearing to be killed by Shaw after he is forced to eat nuclear energy. His body forms a metallic like material, then stone to try to contain the energy planted inside of him. After the credits roll, he is seen reforming his body into energy on the moon.

I didn't see an extra scene either (midnight showing), but even if I did... that scene you described would mean very little to me. I still believe that they did an awful job at making you actually care about the extra mutants.
I was more bummed that they showed Storm during his "search for the mutants" scene, but they never actually recruited her. I assume this is because she was shown as a kid, but wasn't Storm one of the first X-Men anyway?

I was kind of more annoyed that I stayed after the credits for nothing when something was supposed to be there. That was like, 5 minutes.

I would probably agree with you. The only ones that really mattered were Charles, Magneto, Mystique, and Beast. The rest were just kind of there. Most of the bad guys weren't really played with either. Did they even give gray-suit-guy a name? I also don't think McAvoy and Fassbender were up to the standard set by Stewart and McKellen. But who would be?

I did get a lot of enjoyment out of some kind of random stuff. The aforementioned cameo. The fact that I was pretty sure (just confirmed) that Azazel was the father of Nightcrawler with Mystique. Knowing that Havok was Cyclop's brother (big age difference, or are they ignoring the old films? That was something I was unsure of, reboot or prequel?)

Then again, some random stuff also annoyed me about the movie:
How does Mystique know what Shaw looked like at the end, especially the helmet? How does a coin go through someone's head like that? Physics seem to indicate that his head would move backwards instead. Metal vs diamond and diamond wins? (though, I don't know enough about gems and stonecutting to disprove this one. It was odd to me)

It could have used a bit more action and a bit more character development, I think. Still, I really did enjoy it.

Heh, there seemed to be a few people disappointed in the theater at the end. We almost always get a teaser, but I was a bit weary since the teasers have always been seen at the end of comic book movies for heroes that are in The Avengers.

I thought that Mystique and Beast didn't bring much to the picture either. Pretty much everyone was overshadowed by Erik and Charles.
All Mystique did was pine after Charles, then Beast and finally Erik. Both Beast and Mystique then just sat there complaining about how ugly they were the entire time.

Is that true that Nightcrawler is Azazel's son? I noticed the power looked similar (including the tail), but I don't really know anything at all about those other mutants ( not even the lovely Emma Frost, but she was nice eye candy ). I actually thought that they were going to introduce Cyclops instead of Havok. I guess one aspect that disappointed me is that I kind of expected some of the originals. It's kind of like expecting some of the Enterprise crew and only getting a bunch of red shirts .

Then again, some random stuff also annoyed me about the movie:

The part about Mystique is something that I mentioned earlier and I thought that scene could have been great if she didn't transform properly, and Azazel noticed.

I'm kind of stuck wondering why I didn't really enjoy this movie. It seems that I'm almost the only person that didn't :\. Maybe I'm spoiled by Marvel movies like Iron Man, where Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark) completely blew me away. I absolutely loved the character! Charles had some amusing parts (such as his pick-up lines). I was actually close to chuckling at the end of the "NEIN!" scene early on in the movie... it just seemed a bit cheesy after awhile (it went on for almost a minute).

I figure Charles knew exactly what Shaw looked like and just telepathically fed it to Mystique.

I'd have to see the movie again to recall the exact spot in the time line, but
was he able to see into the reactor room by that point?

Ya WTF!! I stayed after as well, and there was no scene! I thought it was maybe because I'm currently in Taiwan for business, so it's different in this region? T.T

I can't wait for Moira McTaggert (Rose Byrn) to get more action in the sequels.

I enjoyed this movie very much. The best X-Men movie. The best Marvel superhero movie. Kudos to James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender for a job well done. Their chemistry and acting carried the movie. And yes January Jones as Emma Frost is awful ( her potrayal of the character is wrong, wrong WRONG!) but aside from that . . . . . .

There is a lot of demo worthy PQ and AQ scenes for the HT nut. I can't wait for the Blu-ray :awe:

What the hell.
X2 > X3/XO > X1

X2 was the best of those. But are you high? X3 and wolverine were fucking godawful and it has little to nothing to do with their faithfulness to the comics. X1 was shot when Marvel was more or less bankrupt and didn't have a very large budget. I agree it wasn't the best but X3 was so bad. That movie's purpose was to defecate on the previous two and ruin Magneto's character. And then Wolverine Origins? I didn't think it was possible to make a wolverine movie that sucked but they did it and eclipsed X3 in sucking.

As I was walking out of the theater, a group of black people where in front of me. Their first comment was " Black people always die first"

I loled

Sadly, this movie proved their point and was a particularly blatant offense. I think they introduced that character specifically to be killed.

Sucked. January Jones was banging though.

I had no idea she was that stacked and I watch Mad Men. Was that some kind of super push up bra or do those 60s dresses just hide it?

She looked hot and she has the bitch look for the character...but she comes off as an idiot just like Betty from mad men. I'm pretty sure she just plays herself.

I think he meant "X0" (X Zero) as referring to Xmen first class, not Wolverine Origins.

Well that makes more sense I guess. I for seem reason feel like that wolverine movie was called X-Men Origins: Wolverine or something at one point. Still, the sequel will have to be X0.5 then.

Give me a sequel with Mr. Sinister.

Alex Summers and Scott Summers were brothers in the comics, the movies make the storyline more believable if Alex is Scott's dad. That would eliminate Corsair from being their father...and leaving the starjammers out of the story all together. I'm ok with that.

But Sinister can still do damage by experimenting on mutant DNA thereby creating Scott Summers and David Haller (Legion) the son of Xavier.

Also - the guy in the grey suit was Riptide...a Marauder. Marauders were badass. A Sinister/Marauder sequel with Charles/Magneto teaming up to defeat Sinister would make my inner geek squeal with delight. And it can still show how CHarles and Eric manage a friendship even though they see the world differently.

The X storylines put anything else out there to shame...it would make for some seriously dark movies where the bad guys sometimes win.

I'd love to be a part of that creative team

My only complaint - the woman characters in the movies are so underdeveloped it is terrible!

It seems like they changed around his ability a bit:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marauders_(comics)#Lineup
A brutally evil man who can spin his body at superhuman speeds and fling out shurikens (made from a resin his skin secretes) for amazing amounts of damage.

That sort of sounds like him (the spinning part), but it seemed more like he created whirlwinds rather than shurikens. His Wikipedia page does say it was him though.
