Anyone know how to get off their mailing list? Their customer service page has a form (which produces a server error) for removing your name, but that form has a big warning saying that if you remove your name from the list, they will circulate it to other spammers.

Sweet deal, I am now able to turn on/off/dim my lights and turn on/off my fan without moving from my computer or while lying in my bed with the remot control. Very hot with the ladies when I hook it up to the stereo system Software for the computer stuff can be found at http://www.x10.com/software. One question though, is the tranceiver supposed to make that loud click noise when you activate your appliance?

It probably got filtered by your ISP's junk mail filter. Look in the junkmail folder if you got one. They send unique URL with expirations to everyone.

I've got a lot of this X10 stuff around the house (in the original boxes!!!).

Some of it I use all the time (like the remotes and the SocketRocket).

I've had three of the appliance and dimmer modules die on me, for no reason, that I can think of.

I've got a hunch that this is not the best-quality stuff. But it is inexpensive.....

The reason you want this is for the RF remote control.

Cool, good to know, as the software that comes with it is horrible (WMAs sometimes play at several times the proper speed, software doesn't like multi-tasking).

Yes. It uses a relay to connect/disconnect the power to the device.
