X1800XL vs 7800GT Purchase Poll

M0RPH is trying a bit harder than keys is.

Fact is, people seem to have a really hard time keeping to the facts. It'll never happen. Personal opinion and bias will always play a part, and it will always jade responses (except for the select few who are able to eloquently present themselves).

Turtle 1 was recently banned for trolling, returning after being banned on another username twice before. So was technically banned 3 times total and AT moderators stated that Turtle 1's ISP will be notified and a complaint will be filed against that member.

I was just saying the one small element of why I posted this (new products cost more) is way too narrow of a perspective to be "The answer" to my post.

Some of you nvidia boys are in denial. I have a 7800GT and a X800XL, IQ is definitely in ATI's field (specifically AF). Take a look at these HL2 screens at HQ and 16xAF Look toward the far end of the left wall, see how the X1800XL continues those horizontal lines, but the 7800GT just kinda... forgets about them?

Look also at the Crane on the upper right. The is a reasonable difference.

I want your screenshots of that exact same scene. That would be tons of useful in here. Think you could arrange it? One shot from your 7800GT and one shot from your X800XL. Exact same settings on both, no exceptions.

Yeah, despite the obvious slant to your motives, the 7800GT is currently a better deal than the X1800XL.

With over 10 brand names producing 7800GT solutions, and only 2 producing X1800XL solutions (well I guess its more like 1, as there isn't going to be much difference/competition between ATI and Sapphire), the 7800GT is bound to be cheaper. Although this is also due to its longer availability - what with ATI dropping the ball and taking so long to produce and release.

I'm not sure about that. Now that I know it's there and that I game on my X800XL right now, I just might notice when I finally switch to my 7800GT. It's just so obvious, blurry walls where ATi has an extremely sharp texture. That's something I'd greatly appreciate.

On the up-side, nvidia's TAA seems to work a tad better than ATi's adaptive AA. See the walkway toward the top? Notice how it's still transparent on the X1800XL, but the 7800GT has no problem with it. These screens kinda show the pros and cons of both cards at the same time.

There's a big difference in me parodying myself, stating up front it's a parody of myself, than calling another member names repeatedly.

From what I see, Morph is a cancer in the forum that needs to go. If anyone agrees with me, they might post in my thread in FI.

I'm not sure about that. Now that I know it's there and that I game on my X800XL right now, I just might notice when I finally switch to my 7800GT. It's just so obvious, blurry walls where ATi has an extremely sharp texture. That's something I'd greatly appreciate.
