Hmmm...

Using the Auto Clock Configuration Utility took my core to nearly 900Mhz and didn?t touch my memory at all but when I tried to run 3dmark with it the screen tore and had tons of artifacts. I don?t believe it is because the card won?t do that speed, more so that the CCC Utility doesn?t work very well right now.

I dont know why he thinks the card will do 900Mhz core with the stock cooler?

Also, why does the new logo on the box say, faster memory, but not core? Doesnt make sense to me they would pimp one, and not the other. Nice to see it in a box, even nicer if it was for sale. Personally, I would just save some cash, and get a $480 Sapphire OEM, and flash it with the downloadable bios.

if ATI get this out, there will be little to no competition....the 7800GTX 512 is scarce now, it probably will do 900mhz.....with a helping hand from the OC'ers best friend liquid nitrogen.

but some how, i have the feeling that this will be another PRESS EDITION (ill be happy to be proven wrong) something that ATI can send out to reviewers, and a trickle to the retail, so that they can claim top product.

NV basically did it with the 7800 GTX512, though you have to admit it wasn't totally a press edition...there are plenty of lucky people out there with them before supply dried up. with ATI it seems there is never any supply to start with.

hopefully im 100% wrong there.....but im not getting my hopes up.



the downloadable bios is a good point, was it power color who released a bios for their X1800XT's?

i was wondering how that went ..... i mean they must be pretty confident all their cards can handle 700Mhz

Mine's already running at 700/1600. Just waiting for Ati tool to get the OC bugs fixed and then try to OC it. 750/1700 on air would be awesome though. Even at 700/1600, it's very fast and handles the games that I play (BF2 and CS:S) without any issues.

Its strange the chinese link shows the XT beating the GTX in all benchmarks while VR zone shows almost the exact oposite, we need a couple more sites to review it before we can declare anything.

i own a x1800xt @ 720/840(1680) and i dont think it does as well as those benchmarks claim vs the gtx 512
