X1900XT too hot for an SN27P2 Shuttle case?

I was trying to talk myself into getting a 7900GT for $240 instead of a 7600GT for $140, but then I found the MSI X1900XT for $290 AR. Does anyone know if this will be too hot in a Shuttle case? I should jsut buy the slow card and wait for DX10 mainstream in winter/spring. Then I wouldn't be spending all this time trying to decide on a vid card.

The X1900XT is dual slot and won't fit in a Shuttle (unless you cut the side out of it).

It should fit just fine, i'm just concerned about the heat. There is a PCI slot next to (towards the inside of the case) the PCIe slot. Sudhian did a review of the SD37P2 (P chassis conroe box) and he even used it in his review so I'm going to assume it's ok, I'm just looking for second opinions.

Iffy...I've seen the insides of Shuttle cases and I'm not sure I'd recommend an X1900XT in there. Seriously, don't do it. You're probably in for more trouble than it's worth if the X1900XT runs too hot. I'm not one to recommend waiting 6+ months for a card but in this case, depending on what you have, it might be better to just wait. Or buy the 7600GT, overclock it and use that as an interim until you can get a DX10 part in early 2007 for $200'ish.

probably the best bet next to getting a 7900GT, but people have had issues with that as well... guess I'll sleep on it and order in teh morning.

Why? it has am exhaust right? Unless you're planning to install a 3rd party cooler.

it shouldn't be too bad, since the stock cooler exhausts air straight out of the case, it would just be noisy

That's funny.. I have an X1900XT in my Shuttle SN25P and it fits without any mods.
