X1900XT --> X1900XTX reflash?

Anyone out there have any information on reflashing an X1900XT into an X1900XTX? I'm comfortable doing the reflash, as I've done it a couple times previously on an X800 Pro --> X800XT PE that I had.

Does anyone have a source for a working XTX bios, or anyone who would be willing to do the BIOS backup process on their XTX and provide one?

Thanks

Wow, cool! Cant wait to see how this works out!
Not that it makes much of a difference, but at least you can say you actually have an XTX for XT prices then (without any OC'ing)

I'm interested in seeing if there's any differences in memory timing between the two, as well. I'll do some benching with the XT BIOS at stock & OC'ed settings, flash it, and then run benches at the same clock settings as I did the XT. I think they may have loosened up memory timings to facilitate the higher clockings at the factory, which either/both will make for slightly lower scores at identical clockings, but may allow for a bit higher overall overclock because of more forgiving memory settings. We'll see....

And thanks Joker, much appreciated.

I'm reluctant to try this, due to memory issues I have.

My core can easily go 690 on stock cooler/voltage, but mem has issues even at xtx speeds. I tried lowering the mem voltage to 1.99v but this will throttle my system instead of giving artifacts..
To be clear if I up the mem only I can go further than xtx speed easily but combined with core o/c gives me trouble. Possible overheating of the core that heats memory as well?

I didn't have any issues when doing this, make sure you back up your default BIOS. No real differences other than being clocked higher out of the box.

ATI Tool reports identical mem timings, etc.?

I can't find a version of ATI Tools to work so I only use CCC ATM.

I feared this might be the case. I had issues with OC'ing memory on both my previous GPU's. I was worried the XT might not reach XTX memory speeds, this has just confirmed my worries.

It really depends on the card you get and how well cooled your system is. The XT I had easily reached XTX speeds and beyond.

Flashed my x1900xt to x1900xtx the day i got it.
No problems at all.

My card runs x1900xtx speeds with no issues.

Card is a Sapphire X1900XT OEM with 1.1ns ram.

As far as memory timings being different from bios to bios, i have no idea, i can easily max out the slider in CCC for the memory to 800 with both bios's , so i'm not sure if there is a difference in timings from the XT to the XTX bios.

Well i'm not as tech savy as you guys are. But I did manage to flash to XTX BIOS. I scored 10648 in 3DMark05 the other day and just ran it again with new BIOS and scored 11131 both at stock settings and my system config was the same on both.
