update: 5.13, and 6.1 does NOT even recognize the card - keep in mind this is an xtx, not an xt.

I am not sure about the xt - i have to check on monday.

update: no driver - driver tomorrow =P

with a 1 slot cooler you should leave the 2nd slot open for air since the cooler gets air from the bottom of the card. If you dont, yor cards temps will suffer greatly.

with the ati 2 slot cooler, you leave the 2nd slot open but you can put a card in the 3rd slot like in a normal 1 slot cooler setup because the air is drawn from the right side of the card and not from the botom. This is ingenious because A, it uses the same space as a decently cooler 1 dlot cooler system and B, it exhausts the air out of the case instead of the inefficent 1 slot system swirling it around and around again at the bottom of the case and C, it ducts air from the cooler right side of the card instead of the bottom so the intake charge will be even cooler since it come from the area closer to the front of the case which means that if yuo have other pci carsds putting out some sort of heat, minimal hot air will not reach the intake of the cooler.

I'm not a fan of the noise of the ati cooler, but design wise its extremelty well designed and efficent wuith basically no drawbacks besides noise.

Congrats! I'm not gonna buy a card that expensive until it supports DX10. My 6600GT with SM3 and HDR OC'ed at 580/1250 on a Zalman VF-700Cu and Antec Blower is good enough for me to play HL2/CSS/Gmod Etc. (the main things I play) at 1280x1024 with 8xSAA and 16xAF.

Thanks for the photos!! The drivers are what I am really curious about..Different people and websites are getting different results and apparently the CAT 6.1(newest) drivers do not work for these cards! Is ATI going to ship the right drivers at the last minute on a CD to review sites or upload them on their site at a certain time/date??Vr-zone's forums seem to have gotten "a lot" better results than others. I wonder what drivers they are using?...

i want to be clear on this point. x1900xt works with 6.1, but other sites DO use different drivers to get a better score on the benchies.

x1900xtx does NOT work with 6.1 (since ati has no intentions on releasing it this tuesday). Most likely it will work with the 6.2. But as of now, it will work with the driver that is coming on monday.
