Hello to you all, its been a while since I've posted here, but I have a question to any of you who have X1950 pros. I just got mine and before I played any games I overclocked it.
ATI's overdrive thing put it at 625 Core and 785 memory. It played fine for a few minutes in COD2, then artifacted (is artifacted a word?). I brought it down to 615/760 and it worked flawlessly. On reviews on various sites they say it doesn't OC much, but mine seems to go up and up and up. Considering I'm using the stock cooler and I dont have a single case fan in my computer, I feel pretty good about this OC. Is investing in a better cooler worth while? What are you other guys with X1950's getting for OC's?
BTW my system is as follows
e6300 Conroe @ stock
Intel DG965WH - the reason its at stock
2 Gigs of Kingston PC5300 DDR2
BBA X1950 Pro
Antec Neo Power 430 PSU
XP Pro SP2
