Took some time, and a system rebuild, but I have bene able to achieve 2.7ghz on my 3800+ ( Toledo )

The second core never could make it past about 40min, now it seems to be going well.. We shall see shortly!

http://pics.bbzzdd.com/users/bjc112/Snap3.jpg

I will NOT go any higher on the volts, I went from a 1.47 loaded to 1.56 loaded.. Temps are pretty good for a 700mhz x 2 overclock!

I reapplied paste to the chipset fan, upped the LDT volts slightly, and adjusted airflow in the case..

I am now @ 4 hours and P95 is running strong!

Wish me luck overnight!

Dropped Volts to 1.56v.. Now Prime/SuperPI stable for days..

40 hours

I have the ITE ( DFI software/temp/fan control) leaving my CPU fan disabled until 43-45C.. Which is all the time, unless I am loaded 100% i hit 50C-52C

The XP-90 is pretty handy!

stock volts, and 2ghz I may be able to go fanless

bumped voltage ever so slighty..

If it makes it to 12 hours I will be happy..

Even 8 hours is pretty damn stable, but I figure I might as well go for 12!

I got the same OC out of my x2 3800 toledo. Using 1.45v with the +10% mod which comes out to the same voltage. It was 12hour stable so i stopped testing. My heavy use (both cores loaded with 2 eq sessions) temp is 40C, during the test it got upto around 50. Im using a zalman 9500 cooler.

Hmm...why are you using the 9x multi?

Does it actually work better for you than the 10x?

Or it just works out better for working with your RAM's max?

Just streching out the memory a bit..

I may need to drop back to the 10x when I get my G. Skill in..

I know it wont be able to pull 225-235mhz @ 2-3-3-8 1T

But at least I will get to jump to 2GB..

Don't you think you are being a bit conservative? I would not run a system unless it was stable in Prime 95 indefinitely. If it would crash at all in Prime 95 at any period in time whether it be 8 hours or 250 hours, then I would assume something is wrong with the machine and do what is necessary to fix it.

so what are you saying? you only run prime95 on your system, 24/7 forever?

obviously there has to be a point where one determines his system is stable enough for his needs.

mine is 24 hour prime and then i run DC projects. other people may just run 4-6-8 hours gaming and thats all they need. if its stable enough for what they do then thats their call.

well i would say that if it can run 2 primes for 8 hours and then run BF2 for 2-3 hours straight that is pretty good. i would be happy with that. i mean come on we all know that BF2 sucks up a lot of resources from your PC.

nice OC. wish i could do 2.7, got up to 2.66 but then i had some other problems so i turned it down for now. going to try and shoot for 2.66 again later. but for now im going to just live with the 2.55, im happy.

Awesome OC: temps are fine considering you're on a 90mm HSF. Good work!

Got up to 2800mhz, but things got hairy REALLY fast..

2700 is a lock though..Not sure if the extra volts are worth the 100mhz or not.. But I'll stick it out for awhile!

I am saying that if you know your pc will crash at a certain period of time in prime 95, then it is not stable. It will be considered stable if it does not crash. Normally, the longer the better.

I'll stick w/ my 4200+ @ 260 x 10 1.475v. I'm not too crazy about jumping up to 1.58 just for an extra 100Mhz
