I've been testing the system in my signature for about a week now. I have what I think is a modest goal of reaching 5000+ (2667) speeds and leaving it at that. I can reach this goal and I think it will be stable but I must push my vcore to 1.50ish.

I read Zebo's guide and saw that 1.45 should be max for X2s. I have also seen people pushing them past that on air through out this forum and others. What is the true limit that I should not pass? I did so brief testing at 1.5 and never went past 52c and that?s on stock cooling. The ninja and artic silver will be here in a couple of hours.

Let's see...when finding the max I went to 1.58V on my 3500+...and it did over 3.2 GHz at that voltage. While you have an X2 chip, I believe you should be fine with anything less than 1.55V if you keep an eye on temps (especially with stock cooling).

Yea my X2 is at 1.5V at 2.52Ghz and it is running just fine. After about 10 hours of Prime it was 48C with the stock cooler, now that prime has been off for about 20 minutes it's idling at 36/37C

I understand people not wanting to damage their CPUs but I think you are safe going over 1.45 just watch your temps.

Thanks guys. AS I've been testing I have been having major problems with core 2. I was using MBM5 with DFIs data to monitor the temps. After downloading core temp from xtremesystems I am now seeing a 12c difference in temp between the cores at all times. Anyone else used this program? If this is accurate I'm going to have to back way down on the OC .

EDIT:

As far as I can tell core temp is right. I would never consider RMAing a CPU because it OCs bad but if the IHS is not on correctly and one core is running 12c higher then the other (even at stock speeds) I would think it would be ethical to RMA the CPU. What are you guys thoughts?
