x2 hotfix

Where do i get that x2 hotfix from microsoft and how do you apply it? id just read one of the thread and it said somethen about editing the registry

I got it from the AMD website www.amd.com . Go to Processors, choose Athlon64 X2 and it's the Windows XP/2003/whatever driver.

That's the driver, not the hotfix.

You should use Fix 4 (Up to date video card drivers) anyway.

I used the AMD driver and the MS patch.

I've had no need for the third fix.

As a side topic, is Win XP 64 worth using when I build my x2 machine? Or just stick with win32 prof

Seems CS:S is the only game or appl. I have any problems with, (without HotFix) so I just set affinity for Steam, after it launches, which, when starting CS:S, it defaults to the same core as Steam. EZ 'nuff, I don't feel the need for the MS "fix".
Can't wait for the XBox 360 service pack to come out........ LOL
