X2 gen Costco

I think the deal is good. Any one know if the monitor is any good?
Also I don't mind the 1680 x 1050 resolution. I never turn my desktop up higher then that, and I dont buy the faster video cards so I never run a game at higher then that resolution anyway.

We just started carrying the X2Gen in the 22" wide at MC and it looks very nice, however for some gamers the Sceptre 22" is also very nice.

I'm pretty positive that it is a 6bit panel using Hi-FRC to simulate close to 16.7 million colors. All the 22" LCDs I know of are primarily using the 22" Chi Mei panel which is 6bit.

I jumped on Sceptre 22" Costco deal last time and was extremely disappointed with its leaky edges and uneven cloudiness during screen saver mode and dark background. Also, text look really awful if you go resolution lower than its native (max) resolution. I will return my Sceptre and see if X2gen is better. Good thing the HDMI port on Sceptre went bad (although I can return it w/out a single issue I don't want to abuse the system). Thanks for the heads up on 1/08 date.

lcds do tend to look terrible at nonnative resolutions. its just different levels of terrible.

HUKIM: Just today I had the DVI input on my Sceptre 20" crap out. Must be an issue with these. I'm very glad I can just return to warehouse rather than ship this ah heck back to newegg or whatever. The 20" also had leaky edges.

well, I see the viewsonic only has a 700:1 contrast while x2gen has 1000:1... whether thats true or dynamic I cant say for sure. Im shopping for a 22in for my brother so Im definitely interested in others first hand feedback also between all the 22in LCDs at costco...

I've never seen it in any of the Costco's in the Portland OR area.

I bought one for my wife for Xmas. She uses her computer for office work exclusively so gaming response time issues weren't a priority. She went east for a few days and I hooked it up to my machine for a weekend of gaming and can offer the following comments:

1. I didn't notice any ghosting at all. I played Prey and BF2142 exclusively.

2. This monitor definitely has a sweet spot for viewing. Stray from it a bit (especially up or down) and colors will start to wash out. But if adjusted for your viewing height and angle properly, it looks great.

3. It does NOT come with a DVI cable (all of my gaming was via the vga cable). This kinda pissed me off and should play into your cost/benefit analysis if you don't already have a spare DVI cable lying around.

4. Overall, I was pleased and am considering buying one for myself. If I don't get this, it's because I don't want a 22 inch monitor (and will get a 24 incher).

I just returned this LCD a couple days ago. The PQ was pretty good, but there was a slight blueish tint to the picture which annoyed me. I returned it and got the Samsung 225bw from CC. Picked one up for about 275 after coupons.
