Nice cheap card to replace older onboard video or slower add on cards.
Same as Jetway 939 "Pro" motherboard uses for onboard (including the dedicated 32 megs).
It is a little faster than nvidia 6150 onboard.
Much faster than many AGP cards like ATi 9200se, 9550 or nvidia 5200, 5500 cards.
Besides onboard dedicated memory, it also allows you to use onboard + shared system memory, so games wanting 128 meg video will work fine.

For reference, 3dm2k1se scores around 7900, 3dmk03 scores 2100.
Compares in speed to ATi 8500/9100 or nvidia Ti500.
It will play games.
We use the onboard Jetways for LAN parties, and play games such as Company of Heroes, AOE III, Papyrus Nascar Racing 2005 Season, Unreal 2004, etc. All work fine at lower resolutions (800x600 or 1024x768). But, if gaming is your main thing, of course you will spend more than $20 and get at least a mid range gaming card like 7600GT or x800 for less than $70.

The sad/funny part is that the site says it's the perfect compromise for serious gamers. =p

The keyboard/mouse had my interest until I saw $8 shipping. Still, thanks for the heads up OP.

They also sell one with 128MB for only $10 more. Consider the price of ram, this is better if your system is ram limited. The 32mb will steal some system ram to run decent.

We can't post codes her but if you go to www.gottadeal.com they show the code on the right side.

If not legal sorry.

Is there a considerably better alternative to this deal for say another $50 bucks or so? I want to jump on this until dx10 arrives but I'm having a hard time not feeling like there has to be a better 'balance' of cheapness and ability to at least play at 800x600...

um...yes? there have been plenty of video card deals for under $80 over the last few months- eg- an Asus 128mb 7300GS with 810mhz DDR that was $49 shipped after google checkout from buy.com (as well as many other good sub-$80 video cards deals) but since you missed that, you could go with the x300 128meg for $40-$50 most reasonable places...
heres a 1yr warranty new pull for $40 shipped

I am sure there are other as good or better deals out there for new cards- hopefully others will also chime in...
ps- 800x600 doesnt mean much considering the game and the settings you like also play a major role..

Well, try the ati store of refurbed cards: LINK
Notable deals there: X800 PCI-X for $79 or a Radeon 9200 PCI for $29.
There are sometimes coupon codes out there too...
EDIT: There's a 5% off AND free ship code.

Okay, so it looks like the x800 can be shipped for about 75, which seems like a pretty good deal to me-- you guys are great! Would the consensus be that the x800 CF is the best bang for the buck here?

I would definitely say so- so how did you get it for $75 shipped?
EDIT- NM- I just noticed dragonlord2112 mentioned theres a couple coupon codes- anyway- hope the card works well for you, and 1yr warranty on a refurb is nice (considering that's ATI's warranty on new cards now). If you have an AMEX blue card it may double it to two years FYI.

Actually, I'm not even sure if it is a refurb, but yeah, there is a code so I jumped on it. There was tax though, so it ended up being 81 dollars with 3-5 day shipping, though they would've discounted part of the express shipping if you wanted overnight. Not a bad deal at all.

thats true- I just assumed was refurb (since all the other cards on that page were), but looking at the product title- its just whitebox- so bonus for you- should be new

LoL, now I'm tempted to get another one and make a little crossfire rig to play with until dx10 comes out... must save 81 dollars... Think the prices on these things will drop some more after the r600 release?

the x300 came preinstalled in my old system, I could play cs source almost maxed out and could run bf2 on low~med with good frameates.

I also played swg for a few months so it is good for the wow crowd that need a decent gfx card.

do you allready have a crossfire motherboard? if you do then I would spend the $81
if you dont, then you can add the price of the mobo to that $81 , which makes it not worth it...
