I'm not familiar with the term "S3 Sleep" - is it a Vista function? I have a Q3350, but am running XP. I don't know if this is any help, but I have been able to put this PC into (and out of) Standby. I hope that this is of some help.
@JonJ - thanks for the info. S3 is just a different level of suspend. S1/S3 are the two major ones. In S3 state, the processor goes to sleep, HDs turn off, fans, stop, etc. I read somewhere that X3350 and X3360 chips don't support this, but you're saying your chip does... it is a Xeon right?

Having a few weeks of experience with my X3350, I have a late caveat to add to my earlier statement. Although the PC will go into, and come out of, S3 suspend, it is not always "happy" when it has done so; it can then be slow to respond to input, etc., until the next reboot.

my 9450 plays nice with ip35e btw. It's been solid at 3.4 for a month. I could go higher but the extra tuniq got recruited for q6600 duty, leaving the 9450 with a measly cnps 9700
Sweet! Mine will have a Gemin II with two 120mm's (tricools) on low on it. So I was thinking 3.0 for general use and 3.5 for benchmarking and bragging! Who knows, might be 3.5 all the time! I love this forum.
