x64 Vista - Slight issue

I recently upgraded from a single core AMD 3800+ to a X2 6000+ and now my wonderful Vista Ultimate x64 doesn't like me, BSOD as boots into windows everytime, I can get into safe mode and I can boot into XP without issues. Has anyone else had this issue, is there any way around it aside from a fresh install... this will be the 3rd or 4th time I've had to reinstall it becase it decided to die(no boot into Vista), or BSOD anymore or whatever. please tell me there is an easy fix for this, aside from trashing my only x64 OS... I need my RAM

You don't mention what motherboard your using, but i would check for a BIOS update.

Also, I wonder if

1) maybe your system is skating the edge of what its power supply can handle? Spec list?

2) perhaps some of your RAM is either voltage-starved or faulty. What brand & model of RAM is it, and what voltage are you giving it? Some types of RAM, the fancy high-zoot stuff, will want significantly more voltage than the motherboard will provide it at default settings. Testing with Memtest86 may help shed light on this.

The motherboard is an EPox NF4 Ultra BIOS is as up to date. I have reinstalled vista and it works ok, but I have about 150gb thats installed on the copy thats giving me issues. I've ram both Prime95 and memtest with no issues in both XP and the fresh install of vista. this wouldn't be such an issues but my internet blows, and trying to get all the patches and updates for both my games and vista would take me 2-3 days of straight downloading

4GB OCZ gold DDR2 800 (2.1v)
7600GT
250(x2) SATA HDD's (WD and Maxtor I think)
550w PSU

the BSOD is ... 0x0000000A (0x0000000000000000, 0x000000000000000C, 0x0000000000000001, 0xFFFF8000185D26C)

the mem dump never starts, I had it sit there for 15min with nothing.
