x800 drivers

Just ordered my ATI x800 pro tonight. Im pumped, but a little worried about dealing with drivers.

I have an nvidia gf4 ti4200 right now. Im going to TRY some driver cleaners and cross my fingers for sucess with ATI drivers, but im betting a reformat will be involved =\

Which Catalyst drivers are included on the ATI x800 pro driver disc? Should I use the disc or just go to ATIs site for the latest ones. I normally do not have that many problems with drivers, but this card is so new, I'm sorta worried. Anyone have experience with the x800 pro? Just to clarify, I ordered a (built by) ATI x800 pro Retail.

i think as a general rule you should go with the latest Cats from the website. I do the same with nVidia's Dets (ForceWare).

Download drivers, DAO, dvd decoder start file, and mmc. install in that order. when you get to cd verification for the DVD decoder installation, choose to download decoder from website.

Download the latest from the web. You can even use alternative drivers like those from Omega.

I had no problems using Driver Cleaner going from Nvidia to ATI,remember to uninstall old Nvidia drivers first,boot into safe mode and run both cab and Driver Cleaner,full instructions are in the Driver Cleaner readme file,anyway after I finished running Driver Cleaner etc... I just closed my PC down & installed my ATI card then booted to desktop and installed the latest official ATI drivers that I had already downloaded from the web.

The omega drivers are also quite well. I also reccomend them. On the other hand, with such new hardware, id still go with the ATI drivers due to them being updated so constantly and the potential of them being less bug ridden then the omega drivers with the new archetecture.
