So are there any comparisons of the X800's vs the 6800's with the gold version of Doom3? I know it hasn't been gold long, but there's gotta be a number of copies floating around in the right circles. Someone do some testing already!
What the hell is that supposed to mean?Originally posted by: Cawchy87
it is gold simply on pre-orders

In the new issue of PC Gamer (which reviews Doom 3, rating it 94% and game of the year so far), Tim Willits says that the 6800 is marginally faster, but that the differences between the cards are inconsequential.

Apparently http://www2.hardocp.com/article.html?art=NjQy claims that NVidia blows Doom3 out of the water, but again. We're looking at an OpenGL game running on a card optimized for OpenGL applications. How many games on the market really RUN on OpenGL and how many ATI cards and games run better on Direct3D?
I mean, i'm not biased towards either card, but...is it really worth it to buy an NVidia card for ONE GAME?
Anyways. I'm upgrading soon as i see proof, so far, my Sapphire 9600XT 256MB will have to do the trick.
