No relatives in the USA otherwise Id have ordered a lot more from there in the past.

What kind of protection would I have if I asked an average joe American to buy one and ship it to me? Especially bad if it ends up being PCI-E or doesnt unlock like the PCI-E ones... which Im still looking for confirmation of.

May end up that the AGP version doesnt exist or doesnt unlock. Trying desparately not to spend money but Im very tempted to replace my 9800 Pro with an 850XTPE for GTO^2 cash.

Store called and cancelled the order. They talked to Saphire or ATI or whoever and this sku is misassociated with this model. They say the agp version doesn't exist and distributors were given bad info. Oh, well... I'll just wait a year til I convert to pcie.

i don't know if it was like this before the mod but after the mod when i look in device manager it states unknown for the video card but when i click on it it shows that it's a x800/x850 card. is it like this for everyone else?

Numerous people have called to confirm that it IS an AGP version of the GTO2

There is no AGP version. It was a mistake by the merchants and/or someone at Sapphire.

I flashed my Sapphire X800GTO2 using the modified bios on techPowerUp!.

In device manager, under display adapters, I have two entries. The first one says "RADEONX850 Series". The second one says "RADEON X850 Series - Secondary"

Should I be seeing two entries? Does anyone else have two entries?

Yes, there is a primary and secondary display adapter, that's normal. But mine are labelled X800/X850 Series.

Got mine installed today and this thing is a beast. I haven't flashed the bios yet(picking up a floppy tommorow) but I did run the ATI tool on it and searched for the max core and memory and holy sh*t it gives me 590/639, I backed it down to 540/605 and ran 3dmark05 5835 and gamed for quite awhile and my max temps seemed to be about 68-70c while checking for artifacts at 590 core (to high?) I can't wait to open up the other 4 pipes

I wonder if anyone has a GTO2 that cannot be unlocked, I'm pretty sure this is a 100% success rate. On the other hand, O/C it to the X850 XT PE speed is a little bit more challenging, I could only got mine up the the X850 XT speed (520/540).
