I'm hitting that score at around 490\1220 with 16 pipes enabled on my Sapphire GTO2.

That sucks butt. I have the same processor at the same speed, 1 GB of RAM, and my 6800GS gets ~5100 not OC'd, and breaks 6000 when OC'd.

I just installed my gto2, having it running via ATITools at x850xt speeds. Scored 6.2k in 3dmark05, not too shabby I think. Gonna get going on my cpu in a day or two.

always remember that the GTO2 is kinda a crap shoot... i only get 535 on my core and ive got a Arctic Cooling ATISilencer.... normally my temps never even get to 50C...

only thing that sucks is i paid 250 for mine since i got mine about 3 days before the price drop happend

Sapphire X800GTO Fireblade at the max overclock using ATI tool I got 6400 on the free 3dmark05. The clock i used where 636/615 for the core and memory. I don't run my card at those speeds all the time tho, im running it at 620/600 for BF2 an COD2

I also got a ATI silencer(the x850 one) Heatsink/fan becuase the temps where around 70 degrees celcius with the old fan and it was somewhat annoying.

All gto's have a good price performance ratio, cuase even if you don't get one you can unlock, you can overclock like crazy

here is my futuremark link to my gto score

http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=1550874

i hope that link works

Edit: this was with the cat 12s

Thats a low overclock on the core? I had the same issue as VPU recover would kick in around 580 on the core. After turning it off I got it up to 636 with no artifacting in games or in ATItools 3d image.

But since you have the 16 pipes enabled that might have something to do with it......

Still got a nice card for 250 tho

In the catalyst control center, in the view bar,you turn on the advanced options, and at the bottom on the left side it should say vpu recover

Also just a tip if you hate teh long load times of CCC if you turn the skin to system in the prefrences bar, it loads quicker. And if you get the .net 2.0 framework it loads really fast

It looks like your already have a pertty high OC on that card already though so I wouldn't even bother trying to Oc it more as your probably wouldn't see much difference in game, maybe a couple FPS

That's the highest clock I've heared of for a Fireblade card. Does it have a R423 or R480? 1.6ns memory or 2.0ns? Did the Silencer improve your overclock much from the stock cooler?

Don't know how much my Sempron effects the scores. I ran the "free" version of 3DMark05, version 1.20. No AA or AF.

X800GTO2 at stock speed, 16 pipes: 5234

X800GTO2 at 525/540: 6381

So about a 20% increase with the overclock.

The CPU isn't really a bottleneck with single cards in 3DMark05 . . . yeah those scores are about equal to an X850XT . . .

Acutally I beg to differ about the CPU being a bottle neck. I have two systems with PCI-express slots. A S754 Sempron system(2500+ OCed to 2.5Ghz) and a S939 system(X2 4400+ OCed to 2.5 Ghz. With my X800GTO^2 in the Sempron system, I could only get a maximum score of just over 6400 3dmarks. Using the SAME clocks I swiched the card to my other system (the X2) and scraped up another additional 300 points.

My conclusion: 3dmark05 was being bottlenecked by the Sempron system.

Dito on that Bull Dog. The CPU usually isn't, but can be a big bottleneck for 3dmark scores.

I have my core at 600/612, going to try for more today.

What did you get on 3dmark with your 630/1250?

Does ATI Tool really work (max core/mem)? Should I just click max core and let it run? Because it gets really high like 630, before I stop, haven't 3dmarked it yet. Same with the memory it goes to like 622, and I stop it. Should I just let it go?

What's a bad temperature because at 615 core my temps go to like 55 (GPU temp, when artifact testing), is that too hot?

I meant R423/R480? 1.6ns/2.0ns? Anyway I get about 6400 in 3dmark05.
As for ati tool, I'd just set it manually at 610 mhz and let it scan for 1/2 an hour. If there's no errors bump it up another 10mhz and try again until you find the max. Then do the same with the memory. As for 55 on the GPU, it's within safe levels. I mounted a 80mm fan under my card exhausting out the pci slots, it helped the temps a bit.

edit... and once your done leave it about 10-15 mhz below max to have a bit of breathing room. Just to be on the safe side.

:Q

I've had ATITool running for 10mins on my Fireblade (stock hs/f) at 400/625, no artifacts, 57 temp.!

My gto2 can hit 6700 3dmark05 but it runs to hot for my taste 75c, so I run it at 520/1150 which gives me about 6000 with much cooler temps
