X800gto2 Unoocked & Overclocked Cooling Options

I have a Sapphire X800GTO2 unlocked to 16 pipelines and running 540/590. The factory fan/heatsink can't keep the temps down below 60C. My ambiant teps, in my appartment, are not as low as it could be but after 1 hour os so of Battlefield 2 the GPU temps creep up too close to 70C and once or twice I've noticed video corruption, once it even crashed. I would also like this solution to be cost effective.

I've been looking at the Vantec IceberQ 5 and some Zalman products. Some insight into these and others would be appreciated.

I should really point out that I would like users who have the same card and have used a 3rd party heatsink to give me thier installation details. Easy,Hard,Impossible??? I really want something that I don't have to "Mod" to fit properly.

vf700 and artic sliencer accelero and ati silencers are your best bet.

The silencer might have to be sanded down a bit if your ram is not standard bga thickness(1 giant copper palte to cool gpu and ram). But it exhausts hot air out of youtr case which is a plus.

The vf700 cools a bit better in cases with good ventilation but in not so well vented cases it suffers.

both are easy ot install.

That's the wrong model. The correct model is the ATI Silencer 5 Rev. 2. And yeah the silencer is a good cooler, when I used it on an unlocked X800GTO @ 560/580 it kept load temps at ~54C and idle temps at ~38C.

Keep us posted on what you get, how it installs, and what temps you get. My card hits the wall @495/600.

I have a Zalman VF-700 Cu on my unlocked, OC'd X800GTO2, and it keeps it under 60C running 510\610 with the fan running at about 3\4 speed with a Zalman Fanmate.
