No, your 6800GT is about equal if not better than a X850pro.

the x800pro is about equal to the 6800GT, the x850pro is slightly faster/better IMO, especially since the VIVO should be able to flash to the X850XT-PE!

Ok the description shows it as an AGP card but in the requirements it has: PCI Express based PC is required with one X16 lane graphics slot available on the motherboard and one additional adjacent expansion slot. So is it AGP or PCI Express?

pics and everything else are of the AGP, just that 1 part of the description is pcie (they copy/pasted the pcie x850pro and forgot to edit that part of the details).

regardless, most gamers will not notice too much at this point in time between the two cards. i'll tell you though, it's probably a lot better than buying an x1600 pro... even if it has half the memory of the 512 meg version.

I owned a 850xt. It was horrible. That's one reason a $500 video card is going so cheap. And no, it's really not that far out of date to explain such a loss in value for what was once ATI's best cards. It simply was not as good as it should have been for all the hype. Check it out on the web.

So it could even be $159 - $10 coupon + Free shipping = $149 shipped. With 16 pipes active right out of the box. The Pro might unlock to 16 pipes, it might not. We've been getting reports from people from both camps. It could go either way.

You fail to notice the card you linked is PCI-E and the card in the OP is AGP.

EBay has these card for a little bit less as well (least when I looked). The final selling point to me was NewEgg. Also, the x800xt AIW is just a couple of dollors more from mwave.com, it has 16 pipelines out the box and just slightly slower (assuming you can unlock the extra pipelines in the 850). With the trade yp program, you can get the AIW for a bit cheaper even from ATI direct. I wouldn't say this is a hot deal, but it's decent and caught me at the right time.

Here are a couple of links to the flash procedure. It is reversible iif you can't unlock the pipelines or if you get anomalies from the flash.
