If you want the game and second controller it's an extra 130 GB of storage for free.

I got a 12+1 Live card free with my Elite so I'm not regretting buying it a couple of weeks ago. The defective play-n-charge kit is still annoying though.

Well, that's just crazy. When this was first announced, I found it on Amazon just to take a look. Now it's gone.

Same reason that Europe gets all the Playstation/PSP GranTurismo bundles. They are more hardcore about racing sims over there than the USA.

Probably. Flooding the market with all sorts of bundles is a total pain in the ass for retailers. It was pretty much on its way out at the time, but having a ridiculous amount of bundles is one of the things that killed of the N64 quite abruptly, IMHO.

Pretty sure the N64 lost because of expensive cartridges (which in turn helped drive away 3rd party support).

The 360 is getting a bundle because COD4 is insanely popular on the system. And MS is capitalizing on that fact. And I would say COD is now as popular on consoles as it is PC, so it makes sense.
