There might not be Costco in Augusta, but we definately do have them in Ga. There's one 3 miles from my house and I live just outside Atlanta. So that's only like 3 hours away.

I checked the demo unit at the WalMart by my job while I was running an errand today and I didn't notice any blocky pixels. There were some jaggies but I only really noticed them while playing COD2. I thought Kameo looked real nice though.

I just got back from playing the 360 on a widescreen LCD that was letterboxed. It was obvious that the graphics were fantastic but the F430 I was watching race across the screen was only about two feet tall. That was frustrating.

Given the length of time it takes to create a game, it wouldn't surprise me. I'm sure that some of the release-day game projects were started well before the specs of XBox 360 were finalized, and were created from a codebase and libraries that were single threaded.

There's a very large library of games out there, and virtually all of them are single threaded. It will take time before the library vendors learn to use multithreading properly, and time before the game vendors integrate those engines into their games.

Multithreading is not easy.

I came across a Costco bundle last week for ~$640 IIRC (maybe a bit more) that was the Xbox 360, 2nd wireless, play-n-charge, memory card and PGR3, Madden 06 and CoD2. I'm not into Madden, shooter are for the PC, so for just the one game, that was a bit much. If it was DOA4, PGR3 and one TBD, I would've pounced. As it was, I refresh about 30 mins. later and it's gone.

Seriously, though, Nintendo's got the market on innovation in game consoles cornered in the next gen. I'm looking forward to all 3, but I think that so far, only Revolution really deserves the "Next gen" moniker.

They aren't going to do that. Instead they're releasing Halo 3 at the same time as the PS3 launch.

Expect both. I'm betting that when PS3 launches, MS will simultaneously release a slew of top-tier 2nd generation software for Xbox 360, including Halo 3, Gears of War, maybe the first chapter of Mass Effect from Bioware, as well as some others, along with a $50-100 price cut depending on the PS3 launch price.

According to MS, they can introduce a substantial price drop once per year as production capability matures. This is going to be a *serious* fight that PS3 may never catch up on.

Yeah I never heard of anyone doing that with xbox 1, or PS2, or anything. They might knock the price off $50 or $75 after a year (nothing is going to go down in just a few months), but thats nowhere near half.

Even ebay sales of this kinda stuff are always brisk.

hahaahahaaahaaahaahah. I think not. Remember how the sony ppl were warning everyone it would be really expensive? I think it will be other way around, PS3 getting lowered to match xbox 360.

Sony is saying Spring 2006. But that is likely the Japan release date. N. America release date will probably be late next fall into the holidays.

It was recently announced that the PS3 would now be launched in Xmas 2006 possible Spring 2007
