Especially, if you're looking to flip it (which I am, I plan on buying one, but the capitalist in me wants to try to make some $$$ as well).

On the order status page, it's itemized. Should be able to return the crap that it comes with. And it comes with a lot of crap. If not, I'll just have Amex handle it for me

I wonder if they are going to fulfill preorders before they ship out these million dollar bundles.

If you are talking about fufilling the store preorders first, then hell no. Most companies make sure they keep the online business and the retail business completely seperate so they can take advantage of people in situations like this. Gamestop makes a hell of a lot more money allocating their 360s to sell $1K and $1.5K bundles than they do if they ship them all out to retail stores.

I guess there is big talk about it overheating

Supposedly the power brick overheats. Treat it like a computer component and you'll probably be fine, i.e. keep it cool. There is a thread linked somewhere where somebody with overheating problems suspended the power brick or stuck it on the corner of a box so all the sides were exposed and it worked fine.

But only 3% or so of them have problems. 3% is of all problems, with overheating the major cause.

Who wins? Greedy Lawyers. The overheating is curable and microsoft will correct it for consumers. That I trust microsoft to resolve.

However I think the scratching disc issue is much more serious and shamefull because the first x-box had a similar problem. They should have known better and to not replace discs and xbox drives that cause it is shamefull.

That's such a kludge, though. You shouldn't have to practically suspend your power brick in the air in order for it to work properly. Plus, if these kinds of measures are necessary to keep the brick cool when the system is brand new, then it doesn't bode well for the long term durability of the system. All that air being sucked into the 360 and the power brick is going to result in some serious dust build up over time, so I wouldn't be shocked to see stories of the 360's dying from dust-bunny induced overheating in six month's time. Also, all that heat in such a small space is going to be hell on the components, which could seriously reduce the lifetime of the console. I'd recommend waiting about six months if possible, just to make sure that this new system doesn't have too many gremlins pop up over time.

I figure that next year is the time to buy, anyway, since hopefully by then all three systems will be out and we will have a chance to see which one is truly the best value overall. A $500 PS3 could wind up being a better value than the 360, once you figure in the extra cost of equipping the 360 with WiFi, a HD DVD drive and a HDMI adapter (to compete with the BluRay, WiFi and HDMI that comes stock on the PS3). Heck, if the PS3 is way over priced and the 360s are prone to heat induced hardware failure, the Revolution (even though it can only handle SD resolutions) might be the best bang for your gaming buck if it comes in at a nice price next Christmas.

There's still a lot of good games available for the first Xbox. I'd recommend holding out and waiting to see what everyone else has to offer before jumping into the next gen market. Otherwise, you're likely to wind up as the proud owner of the next Saturn or 3DO.

I personally agree Halo isnt out yet for the 360 and there just inst that killer game I need.

I really want to see what Sony and Nintendo have coming. I might just be a nintendo fan this time around I want the games to be fun and that controller as goofy as it looks. Also looks like its a ton of fun. I would like to box or sword fight or swing the cotroller like a bat for baseball. The graphics mean nothing to me if the games arent fun and nintendo looks like a lot of fun. Plus I am getting tired of first person shooters especially on a console system that lacks a mouse. Dont get me wrong about consoles they are simple the best for multiplayer sports and racing games to me. Nothing on the PC comes close to those.

I also have kids that are getting interested in games. The first x-box and the second look like they have overlooked the younger kids all together again.

Im going to wait its not like you can get your hands on 360 so easily anyway so its not really a choice either.

It's still letting me add to my basket.

Also, I found a link for free value shipping. It might be worth the extra money to get it overnight though.

in for 1. you're best off overnighting it for only $10.

NOTE: even with free shipping, they will charge you for HANDLING. it is a $29 surcharge. good thing they don't charge tax in CA, so that makes up for it.
