I'm eagerly awaiting Blue Dragon for the XBOX 360 and I'm really hoping that Sakaguchi will use some of his old school magic to make it a game I've been longing for as I haven't cared for Final Fantasy in a long time. It's pretty evident that I prefer the games that he had a real hands-on approach to, as he stopped being as active in the game development after FFVI.
There's supposed to be a demo coming out sometime soon and I have a Japanese XBOX Live account, but I haven't seen anything yet .

I think some of those 15+ year old games are still better than a lot of the games that come out today, but maybe I'm just being nostalgic.
Well, I can't find myself playing most of these games anymore. I've beaten them all before and I have a good memory (for some things... video games: yes... names and such: no ), so I don't forget the games. Therefore playing the games doesn't do much for me. Although, emulators help a bit by sprucing them up a bit. This is kind of why I was looking forward to Chrono Trigger: Ressurection (the non-profit 3D remake of Chrono Trigger that Squaresoft had them shutdown... grr). I mean, I may've played the game a long time ago, I may still remember everything about it, but they made a game with great gameplay look incredible.
But going off sprucing up graphics, there's a limit for me. I haven't really cared for the newer Metroid games at all. I liked the platformer aspect and I didn't care for the first-person change. I also didn't really care for the Zelda change to 3D as well.
Although going to the Wii, I still see it as more of a gimmick than anything. I mean, if i want to play Tennis by swinging something, I'll go get my tennis bag out of my closet and go outside. I enjoy playing tennis, but I either want to play a video game, or play tennis... something inbetween doesn't interest me. Although, I did play a Wimbledon 2 demo today on my 360 and the game just felt like such a poor experience... so sluggish and not much fun. I guess I just need to get used to it. But when it comes to real life tennis, sometimes I'll just relax and play around a bit while playing sports (especially when playing with a sibling... made up some goofy tennis serves in my days ). You can't do things like that in the Wii games, so it detracts a bit for me. If I want to go swing a sword, I'll go into my closet and grab a katana (heh, my closet's starting to sound like a magical treasure trove of fun. Visit the other closet for tons of computer parts too ^_^). Although, at least I can't seriously maim myself swinging around a Wiimote, so that's a plus!
Overall, I'm glad I purchased my XBOX 360. I have a decent game collection for it, but I didn't even buy a 360 until I thought there were enough good games. I also own three computers ranging from decent speed to top-of-the-line, so if I want to play a good PC game, I can. Although, if I play a PC game, I only tend to play WoW as most games just bore me . Well, I guess I should say any game but a FPS (with friends)... those're just an experience all in themselves when you play them on a PC. I remember when me and a friend put 6 Sonic the Hedgehog bots in Q3DM17 and played Hedgehog hunting. They were so bad AI-wise that it was no challenge... I think I got up to 400 frags before I started "accidently" sniping my friend with the railgun haha. Oh the fun times...
