Not really, the original Xbox was rumored at 2 Billion in the Red, so finding out that M$ is losing $300 per Xbox isn't all that surprising. It's called saturating the market and hoping you make a hit.

But unless Dead or Alive 4 comes with Clothes you can rip off using quadruple combo moves, I don't think XBox 360 is gonna sell all that well

When the first ones ocme out, yeah....it cost money to make a new fabrication plant or change your current fab to a new one. I doubt it cost that much t make now.

3) producing more quantities at once cost less per unit. Splitting up the production quantities cost more per unit.

I have had mine not boot 4 or 5 times during the 2-3 weeks I had it.
When I tried to turn it on for the first time it gave me no video. I messed with the wires to see if I plugged them in all the way. Figured maybe pulling it out and plugging it back in would be better. Well yay it did boot up. Several days later it would'nt boot correctly so I turned it off and turned it on. Yay it works again. Another time the circle of lights turned red and gave me some stupid error. Off -> On.. Yay, there is still life in this thing. It did the same thing again later on, but again revived with off -> on. And then before I sold it, it did give me a blank screen. Off -> on saved it again. I'll buy the xbox when it becomes more mature...

Sweet I live like 30 second from there. I wasn't really planning on getting a 360, but I got 120 in target giftcards for christmas, so maybe I might think about it, especially if they have them still in stock as of tomorrow. Quick question, the 360 does work as a media center extender right out of the box right? And can actually stream HDTV?

Is this a for sure thing? If so, I'm definitely going to go by Walmart, but I don't want to waste my time if they aren't going to have any. Also, is this going to be Sunday morning, or they're getting them in Sunday and will have them for sale Monday morning?

Look on the bright side, MS will send you a brand new one in less than a week at no cost to you.

I've been playing the hell out of mine trying to get it to crash. No joy yet.

The only time I've locked it up is when I went into the Dashboard menu while PGR3 was loading a race. That is a known bug though (and one that is hopefully fixed with a dashboard update).

I guess I missed that. Some Walmarts are open 24 hours, just go in at Midnight on Saturday and buy one then. Just an idea.

actually microsoft loses 100$ each, i was lucky enough to talk to the VP of gaming at Zero hour they make the money back off accessories you buy and games.

the ps3 is gonna lose about 150-200$ per system.

no next gen system makes money off the console alone, they make it off of accessories by far

Thanks, I'm gonna try that. I've been waiting for forever, and it seems like everytime they received any shipments it was impossible for me to grab one, now hopefully I'll finally get it.
