Xbox 360 Wired COntroller

Ok should i get a xbox 360 wired controller just for pc gaming? Will it work? it's on sale for $14 so should i get it?

i dont have an xbox 360

you can read reviews here, here and here. overall opinion seems to be that it's decent - nothing amazing but also nothing wrong. especially worth it if you already have an xbox 360. for $14, i say go for it.

however, MS has a wireless version in the makings that should be out early 2007.

Mouse n Keyboard FTW for FPS and RTS. Other than that i prefer a controller

I have a wired Xbox 360 controller on my PC and I love it. I really use it for emulated games and also MUGEN. But yea, I recommend you get one especially if you have an xbox 360 so then you can always have an extra controller lying around in case company comes over.

I'm actually a pretty big Microsoft fan (I love Vista, WMP11, and am thinking of getting a Zune) MrCynicalForHire.

My dislike of monster controllers has absolutely nothing to do with any like/dislike of Microsoft. I just do not understand the desire to use something that massive and awkward when you have a perfectly good keyboard and mouse.

If the X360 controller is "massive" to you, then I'm afraid I may have to make a disparaging remark involving the small size of your hands translating directly to other parts of your anatomy.

KBM is a perfectly acceptable setup for FPS/RTS/MMORPG, but for any sort of sports/racing/action style game, a good controller will stomp all over it. Add in the emulation/oldschool games, top it off with the fact that it's $14, and why the hell not have a quality controller kicking around?

Well I have no problem admitting my hands have evolved past those of the cro-magnon man. Feel free to make disparaging remarks about the size of other parts of my anatomy, though I don't know what the size of my feet has to do with controllers vs. KBM

I guess the thing for me is a console is the place to play those other types of games and, obviously, use a controller. There is no game that I play on PC that would benefit from one of those things, which is why I commented as I did.

From personal experience the feel of the Xbox 360 controller is incredible. It just conforms so well to your hands and you're going to love playing it. If it's on sale for only $14 and you need a gaming controller for whatever genre you intend to play with it then it's definetly worth it, without a doubt.

In comparison to the original Xbox controller S I think the 360 cotnroller was a major improvement. The only problem is if you have big hands, well, you kind of get the shaft. The controller is relatively small and isn't suitable for people with giant gorilla hands, haha. Other than that it's a great buy.

It's a MadCatz controller, not MS. Don't know if it works for pc.

Anybody get a wireless 360 controller with play and charge kit attached to work with windows xp sp2? If so, I would love to hear how you got it to work. The microsoft drivers don't seem to work for this combination.

I picked up the 360 wired controller for Madden 2007 on the pc. Downloaded the drivers off the MS site, cause I bought the xbox version. Works like a charm. I didn't even have to configure it, it's almost like it came configured for Madden. I don't know where you saw it for $14, I paid $35 for mine. I read somewhere that the wireless version doesn't work yet on windows yet.

And btw, Madden 2007 on the pc SMOKES the xbox360 version.

That depends what you play. See playing Fable, or Final Fantasy XI, or Madden 2007 on the controller is perfect.

No it doesn't. See the Madden2007 you play on the PC is the 2006 game engine. Next year you get the 2007 game engine. EA releases the PC version using the old game engine and a different graphics engine.

lol, Thank EA for that I feel you man. When are they going to get it thru there thick skulls widescreen in the future support it for your new games. I am sick of having to modify the game to support it and most of the time it comes out looking stretched most of the time the HUD. EA is soo stupid that they think widescreen is "cheating". I wish BF2 supported widescreen

edit: I almost forgot about the mods questions yes the xbox 360 controller should work I have an xbox controller hooked up to my PC right now had to modify the cable to usb and downloaded a driver off the internet. This is the Xbox 1 controller not the 360 btw
