I sure would love an actual list of changes rather than all these useless shitty feature review videos. Does anyone know what "Updated Party Chat" means? Is this the long promised and never delivered improvement in the voice chat codec?

I cant even sign in to Xbox Live right now. There's a service alert out on it I guess. Sounds to me like their shitty update broke Live. Just leave it the hell alone for chrissakes.

Ok, so I guess us beta testers can talk about it now. I really like the new interface because it actually lets me just hit one button to play as opposed to changing "blades" to start. Silly, I know, but more convenient.

Yes, the new interface is MUCH better than the old one IMO. It just feels more organized.

My only gripe with the new interface is the friends/social tab. Unless the final layout changed from the beta you couldn't just go to the friends blade to see all of who was online and in parties. You had to actually go into another screen. Not the end of the world I know but it's more of a pain in the ass.

I got booted off XBL last night while I was playing Skyrim. Haven't fired it up since, guess I'll take a look this evening. From what I saw in a couple screenshots it appears they're trying to homogenize with the new Microsoft Tiles look from WinMo and Win8.

Agreed, I like it too. I also played around a bit using the Kinect to navigate - it's a much improved experience. Not sure how much I will use the Kinect for this, but at least it's usable now.

It's just like you have another storage device - you choose which one you want to use. You can move (transfer) saves from one device to the next, but you cannot make copies.

I still have issues using the kinect sitting down, especially with a coffee table in front. Voice navigation works well enough though. I haven't yet had the chance to update the Netflix app, so I'm hoping that's a more fleshed out kinect/voice experience than was previously available. I'm assuming the Netflix app was updated anyway.

Anyone done any testing with mkvs in the dashboard video app? During the beta I noticed that some mkvs, upnp streamed, would play...so long as there were other officially supported video files in the same folder. Otherwise they wouldn't list.

Regardless, I know I saw a dev post, in the beta forums on xbox live, that they still weren't able to get official mkv container support in for this release...but that they were working on it.

I s'pose it's a non-issue for me anyway. My mkvs play well enough using the extender.

Yes, I believe you can - need to test that.

Cloud saves are local and then sync back to the cloud, and they will work with a Live connection. If you browse your local hard drive, you'll see a 512 MB file called something like cloud save file.

Whole bunch of "meh"

I have a Kinect but got tired of yelling things at my TV and went back to the controller.

I also dont have a gold account and can't take advantage of the cloud saves.

Not anything else interesting.

Just messed around with the new dash for about 5 minutes and I think it looks to be a worthy upgrade. Speed never was much of an issue on the old tiled dash but things are much quicker here, specifically when moving between areas of content (i.e. being deep in the games list and backing out to main).

The categories seem to be laid out great and I like having the list of everything at the top of the main screen. Also putting all of the extra apps in their own place is pretty nice, too.
