xbox designer uses a mac

On the Microsoft Design Jobs Website, the company recently profiled its Xbox creative director Horace Luke. Luke talks about industrial design and identity, and discusses the importance of consistency. What makes the profile particularly interesting is a digital image of Luke hard at work, examining an Xbox design document. Sitting on his desk are the unmistakable lines of a Power Mac G4 and an Apple Studio Display. (Thanks to reader Marc Letzmann for tipping us off.)

If MS produces the dev tools for Mac there is no reason it wouldn't work quite well.

I'd actually like to see what a G4-733 with a GF3 could do....I've always liked the G4 chip, but Mac's overall infrastructure has been pretty weak traditionally....

I wish they had like a G4 1Ghz or more...I know clock for clock a G4 is faster, but I have trouble believing that a G4-733 could overcome an Athlon 1333....that's quite a deficit.

But none the less...I would really like to see a G4-733 vs P3-733 both with GeForce3s, given a real set of benchmarks.

Not just some lame photoshop filters, but some real standard benchmarks Quake3, UT, etc do they make 3Dmark for Macs? SPEC numbers are good to, maybe some Linux kernel compile tests...then we could see once and for all how much the G4 really does outperform a P3 clock/clock.

most designers use one...

the new G4+ crap with deeper pipelines, etc. seems like a piece of crap to me...yeah, they upped the external clock but only push comparable (some claim even less) performance than a 500mhz G4

Yep, they had to add a few stages in the pipe to ramp the clock.
