No, it's not that big of deal, really--however, I was set to buy a cube, but after seeing the big N not following with Sony and MS, I'm reconsidering--so, actually it could be a big deal depending on who you are and how you look at it.

Getting the Xbox for around $170-$180 was about the norm with rebates and buy.com $20 discount and a couple of hot deals over the past couple of months. I will admit that I think it's been slow in that regard recently though. Maybe the $180 price plus a hot deal will yield even better deals.

Heck yeah! I'm a hardcore PC gamer, but Halo ranks up in the top 10 shooters, period. Now if only it'd recgonize a USB KB and mouse on the Xbox, I'd be in heaven.

Halo PC should be out in the next few months. Here's some Screenshots and the four page Gamespy article. True multiplayer (with additional maps, weapons and vehicles), plus the accuracy of a mouse. I just hope Gearbox is able to retain the co-op feature. The biggest reason I bought my Xbox was to play Halo. Once this game hits the shelves my Xbox will mostly be used for DVD playback.
I may have bad news for you then, but I heard that the co-op was not quite what it should be and that rather than miss their release date they have stripped out the co-op from Halo PC and will try to get it working for Halo II (whenever that comes out for PC). So you might just want to hold on to that Xbox!

I have own all 3 consoles....guess which one I get the most play time out of? The gamecube... I agree Xbox has the graphics to blow the other 2 away and a few games such as Halo, which are incredible. PS2 has plenty of games to keep it running. But the Gamecube just has that classic feel and good gameplay of the GOOD Nintendo games such as Mario Party 4, Zelda, Metroid, Mario Sunshine...etc. $99 for a Gamecube would be unreal! Maybe it will drop too.

I honestly don't think Halo is all that people make it out to be. I am a hardcore PC fps gamer, but I didn't see anything incredible about Halo other than it's been the biggest seller for the Xbox. I honestly don't give a rats ass about Halo for PC, whoopty freaking doo, a game that's old being ported to PC! Anyway, I own an Xbox and think it's well worth the $199 I paid for it. I was hoping the GC would drop some in price, maybe I'll pick one up anyway.

Anyone know if GameCube will drop again?
I can't wait until MarioKart and MarioTennis come out.
I'm gonna be all over that action...

I agree - the Gamecube has some righteous titles that have that Nintendo "magic."

Well I still would like to trade my PS2 for MazdaMP's Xbox. I guess he was talking out of his ass. If you're still reading this thread, do you even have an Xbox, or were you just trying to trash the system?

FYI...Target has the 2 game free bundle (JSRF/Sega GT) for $179.99 plus they are offering a free $19.99 XBox greatest hits game too...I think it only lasts through Saturday. Damn good deal.

Same situation here (except I have DC instead of PS2 - all the titles PS2 has that I care about are on Xbox or DC or PC anyway). GC has the most fun games, just sit down and play!

Sorry about all those multiple posts. I wasn't even sure I logged in correctly so I kept trying to log in. I thought the board limits you to one post every 30 secs?

Good deal! The clerk hid the bundled ones behind the others, so I had to ask if he had any left. So if your looking in the Seattle Target, there's still some there.

Silent Hill 2 + SegaGT + JSRF + Xbox for $180. Nice.
