just to clarify (from all the other million xbox threads we've had), having a larger hard drive will not necessarily get you banned. If you install the hard drive, and then sign up for xbox live, (and i think the hard drive needs to be locked), then you can still use XBL. Keep in mind that if you flash the TSOP (original bios) you can't get on Xbox live anymore (if that's important to you). If you get a solderless modchip with a switch, you can turn it off and still use Xbox live (unless you install a larger hard drive, which will now get you banned as well).
XBMC can stream things over a network perfectly well.
