Its hilarious seeing Microsoft follow up on everything Sony announced with the PS4, after realizing what a failure their new console was

The only reason you could possibly want to buy it is for exclusives, but then again, that goes for consoles in general (as opposed to pc gaming)

This is the only reason I am buying it. I originally was never going to touch it with the DRM mess and no ability to swap disks among friends etc. That is gone so I am buying it but only because there are a few games I want to play on it and of course more over the life of the system.

most people buy consoles to play games put out on that consoles.

Indie studios developing for Xbox One will likely have no RAM restrictions limiting their work on the new console, Microsoft head Phil Spencer said in a post on Twitter.

This follows rumors to the contrary suggesting indie game would only have access to a maximum of 3GB of RAM based on the console's Windows partition. In response to a Twitter query, Spencer replied: "Goal is to allow devs access to full pool of resources available, no indie RAM limit."

You people just make me laugh, just silly sometimes.

To be fair, there's no way games like Guacamelee and Fez need more than 3GB anyways, even next gen.

But yes, rumors are fun!

Look at it this way. All the previous rumors posted on neogaf were true. All the deniers were wrong. This time he may be wrong. Nobody said he was always correct. Just that he is almost always correct. There is a difference.

Plus the twitter post says "our goal is..." Why word it that way? The way it should be worded is "indie devs would not have restrictions despite rumors to the contrary." Why is there any room for interpretation? Why leave wiggle room for speculation? To me it sounds like there is a lack of confidence.

Still it doesn't change anything in my view. Just interesting is all

That's because with MS (if you've paid attention at all) rumor = fact. Haven't you noticed when a rumor comes out, their approach to the answer to it is to word around it rather than just flat out give an answer that makes sense (ie, above).

Then GPU downclocking rumor was completely false, and I'd bet the original source said they were changing the GPU clock and it was automatically assumed to be downwards, when in fact, it was upwards.

And let's face it, 99.9% of indie games don't require more than 3GB of RAM and the ones that do have memory leaks.

I think the point is, why limit it at all? It's another MS attempt at a money grab.

That rumor wasn't by CBOAT either, in fact iirc he even commented on that rumoring when asked saying he had no info/knowledge about it.
