xbox owners??? dolby digital output problems???

Have you guys had any problems getting dolby digital out of your xbox? I bought the monster AV cables and the monster fiber optic cable to connect from the AV output to my receivers optical input. But I only get pro logic out of it. It won't process a DD signal. I know the AV cable works, otherwise I'd get no Video signal. I also know the fiber cable works b/c its the only cable processing audio. But for some reason it won't output a DD signal. Now I went under the "dashboard" and set my xbox system to output Dolby Surround rather than regular oh stereo. But as far as I knew Dolby surround was pro logic. Is there something that I'm missing here? Are you guys having the same problems? And for the record, my receiver is fine, b/c I get DD and DTS signals out of my DVD player and the receiver processes it just fine. It's a Yamaha natural sound receiver (bought it about a year ago)...any compatiblity problems? Thanks for the help guys...

Is there a way to know whether DD is working correctly on your receiver? For example, on mine (SONY DB845), there's a blue light that lights up when a DD5.1/DTS signal is there. Otherwise, try switching where your DVD player is hooked into with your X-Box. Where you're plugging the X-Box into may not accept optical connections.

When the cabling is hooked up correctly, and assuming your xbox isnt defective, there should be new options under settings on the Dashboard. You will be able to enable Dolby Digital and DTS. This is a separate setting from the surround setting that only appears when the AV cables are hooked up to the xbox

And don't forget...the title you are playing has to be encoded in Dolby Digital or DTS!! Otherwise your the signal is stereo only and your receiver will treat it as Dolby Pro Logic surround.

Most common assumption i have seen, just because the XBoX is DD cable does NOT mean all software is encoded in AC3 5 channel sound

Im having this same problem as well? Is it due to the games im playing? All the games display the Dolby Digital logo on the back of the game which incinuates that they are encoded in 5.1. Which games should currently work?
