XBox Price Drop -- Edit: Fake Article?

Hi guys. My original post came from XBOX-SCENE FORUMS in the GENERAL CHAT board. There seems to be questions of the accuracy/authenticity of the message there, too.

Hopefully it is true. I just paid $199 and will go back for the refund if the price does drop.

Ya, those games do sound cool. Maybe my 9yr old nephew will be interested in a nice new GC. Hey, is Nintendo coming out with a Sesame Street game? If so I'm sure he'll like that one too?


I bought an XBox for $299, but I'd buy another for $150.

I also bought the X @ launch for $300 and just don't think a drop to $150 is going to happen this year. It's not sour grapes, I'd welcome a drop as then maybe my cheap ass friends will finally pick one up so I can whoop em on Live. The big hype on the drop is just the Euro drop. Considering they just dropped the price to E$250 in Europe (about the same in US$), I don't see them having a $100 differential in price again.

A suggestion to those who bought an xBox recently (past week or two) and these rumors turn out to be true. Buy a second xBox at the $149 price and return it using the $199 receipt. Of course this works only if you are still w/in the return period of the first xBox.

shoot, I was going to buy the xbox if it dropped in price, but I will not buy it if they atart making them in China.. I dont buy any chinese goods (not due to being ethnocentric, due to the human rights violations, and what is practically slave labor)


anyway, thats a bummer... its hard to find much of anything these days NOT made in china.

there now appears to be a no wire modchip for the xbox.

that chip, coupled with this nice new price tag is very appealing. as said above, very cheap linux box, or home entertainment center

Oh well, I still need a dvd player... so I guess it's time to get an xbox w/ the sams club package. Unless there is something better...
