That's not what I said at all. I said they are losing money on consoles and if they don't have to lose money, why would they do that? They are in the business of making money.
The "fastest selling Xbox generation" claim is bogus anyways. It's lumping the X and S into the same pile. Anyone with half a brain knows the series S is a piece of junk and aside from it being the only available option since the X was hard to find, hardly anybody wanted it. It was just a fallback because it was all that was available.
At the time the 12 million number came out for the X and S sales combined, the PS5 was at 17.5 million. So for comparison's sake, the 12 million number, when considering it's both consoles combined, isn't really that high for the X. Video gaming as a whole is much bigger now than it was back when the 360 came out too and has a much larger audience.
There are a bit more factors that go into that 12 million number than just "12 million xboxes have sold".
