Umm. Check the link I have posted above. Someone already has a 3050 and it only has 2mb L2 Cache. The 3040, therefore, will also only have 2mb L2 Cache.

I read it right off their PDF presentation... seriously go buy one for the 4mb cache, I'll laugh when it's only 2 mb.

So Intel's website is wrong and CPU-Z on a new chip is right?

I'm totally confused now, Newegg doesn't even have the 3050's...

If you check mamisano's post above, he has links to Intel's website that shows the 3040 and 3050 w/ 2mb L2 Cache. If all Intel documentation stated 4mb L2 Cache it would be one thing but when they list both, I'll trust the guy from XS who actually has a Xeon 3050.
I use Ultra-120 with this fan. I was skeptical about the 3 blades but it seems to do the job well. It's very heavy-duty and actually heavier than Panaflo Medium! Amazingly it's quieter than Panaflo Medium, too. It's a bit pricey, however.
If you flip the question then it's obvious that it doesn't hurt. I'd think the chance of high OC is bigger with Xeons. I'm still awaiting the first report from folks who purchased 3040/3050. Still hoping those are 4MB versions. (Maybe Japanese version is 2MB. )Originally posted by: evenmore1
edit: ok, so why would someone get the Xeon over the Conroe?
Same sh*tty HSF.Originally posted by: theprodigalrebel
Edit: Is the stock heatsink the same, or do Xeon users get a beefier unit?

Ah, ok thanks for that bit. Newegg should change that. They don't have an integrated memory controller do they?
